What criteria is my artist profile evaluated on?

In order to ensure a positive experience for all users on the platform, your artist profile is screened by Be My Concert before being approved. We focus on finding the right fit between artists and the Be My Concert platform. While the criteria can be weighed differently based on genre, your profile is considered with the following measures in mind:

Experience

We want to ensure quality experiences for both artists, hosts and guests, so we prioritize artists who have experience playing concerts and perform on a high artistic level. However, we encourage up-and-coming artists to apply as well, since we also think that the Be My Concert format can be a great scene to gain experience.

Original music

We want to support artists to bring original music to new and existing fans. We do not think that cover bands/artists are a great fit with the Be My Concert concept, so only artist applications with original music will be approved. However, including a cover of a song as part of your performance is of course accepted.

NB: Within some genres, performing non-original pieces is an integral part of the musical tradition, e.g. classical and jazz, so for these we of course make exceptions.

A correctly filled out application

It’s important that the artist profiles are filled out correctly, so that interested hosts have all the information they need before sending a booking request. This includes providing high quality photos, a high quality live video, links for relevant social media channels and music streaming platforms, as well as a sharp artist bio/press text. If any of these elements are missing or incomplete, we kindly ask to either update the profile or re-apply with the right content.

Compatibility with the format

Since most of our concerts take place in the homes of private individuals, we look at whether the artist can adjust their set-up to fit an intimate setting. However, this doesn’t mean that a 6-piece band shouldn’t apply, but they should be able to prove that they can scale down for an intimate concert experience.
