Why was my artist profile rejected

For your artist profile to become public on the Be My Concert platform, we need to review it. This is done to ensure that everybody will have a great experience at a Be My Concert.
It is also to make sure that you have understood the Be My Concert concept and you will create concerts that match with Be My Concert standards.

Your profile is reviewed by a Listening Panel to assess your compatibility with Be My Concert, motivation, and ability to deliver a Be My Concert.

If your artists profile has been rejected, it is not necessarily a reflection on the quality of your music. Most of the time that means that we have decided that your music is not the best fit for the Be My Concert experience.

Here are the most common reasons why your artist profile was rejected:

Did you include high quality media in your profile? We can't stress strong enough how important it is to represent yourself as an artist through video and pictures. As many of our concerts are acoustic or stripped-down performances, a live video is required to give the Listening Panel and your potential audiences a good idea of what a concert with you looks and sounds like. Including a good live performance video is crucial for getting your profile approved. In addition, since Be My Concert also helps in marketing efforts, including high quality photos is important for this service to function.

Do you have enough material? Often up and coming artists, who are otherwise very talented, are at a point in their career where they haven't released enough songs to fill an hour-long set. Therefore, we sometimes use releases (singles, EPs, and albums) to help indicate whether a musician has enough material. Perhaps we couldn't find enough of your songs online and this is why your profile was rejected.

Are your recordings of good quality? We know it's expensive to produce good quality music, but we need to ensure that ticket-buying audiences will have a great experience at your concert. And a professional recording says a lot about what stage of their career musicians are in.

Are you present on social media? Because Be My Concert are user-generated and the host and musician are primarily responsible for promoting the concert, it is important for us to know that you will be able to do your part in the marketing efforts for the concert. While there is not a minimum following you must have, showing that you have an engaged network also proves you are at a stage in your career where you can hold a Be My Concert.

Is it realistic for you to play a living room concert? How big is your band and how much equipment and space do you need? Is it possible to have a concert in 20sq. m living rooms with your setup. Please, note that this doesn't mean that if you are a 6 person band, you automatically can't sign up to Be My Concert. You just simply have to be able to scale down your setup to fit the format.

Some music can be too niche or we have too many artists within a certain genre in the Be My Concert network which exceeds the demand and lowers your chance for being successful with us. This can be the reason for not letting you in at the moment.
